Full Lifecycle

From document creation to final distribution, on one platform.

Firms that both draft trusts and administer them after death usually stitch the work together across separate tools. Statular keeps the whole lifecycle in one matter-based workflow — secure intake, complete document packages, signing and funding, trust administration and probate, fiduciary accounting, final distribution, closing, and long-term retention.

7

lifecycle stages, from intake through long-term retention.

1

matter record that carries facts across every stage.

3

matter types: estate planning, probate, and trust administration.

The Lifecycle

One engagement, from the first questionnaire to the closed account.

Each stage reuses what came before it. The intake that starts a plan becomes drafting data; the plan becomes the record an administration is worked against. Nothing gets re-keyed as the matter moves forward.

01

Intake

Secure client questionnaires for estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters. Clients answer guided prompts and upload deeds, statements, prior plans, and death certificates in context — available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified) client-facing questionnaires.

02

Drafting

Reviewed matter data drives a complete package: revocable trusts, wills and pour-over wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, HIPAA authorizations, deeds, and funding and transfer documents — generated together as editable Word files.

03

Signing & funding

Package-specific task lists carry the plan into execution, with trust funding tasks, transfer letters, and deeds so funding does not fall through the cracks after signing.

04

Death of the settlor

Trust administration intake captures trustee, beneficiary, asset, and creditor details, and probate intake collects decedent, heir, asset, will-status, and court information where court administration is needed.

05

Administration

The administration document set — including notices to beneficiaries and creditor notices where available — plus trustee task checklists and a fiduciary accounting ledger with principal and income allocation that reconciles to a closing account.

06

Final distribution & closing

Distribution documentation and final accountings close out the matter. Closing an accounting period requires reconciliation to pass, and closed periods become immutable unless the period is reopened.

07

Retention

Final documents stay in the matter record and remain available through the client portal, so the firm and client can return to key materials long after distribution is complete.

Drafted, administered, and closed inside one matter.

Why One Platform

The plan you draft is the record you administer.

When drafting and administration live in separate systems, the trustee, beneficiary, and asset facts get re-entered — and the accounting starts from a blank spreadsheet. Keeping the full lifecycle in one matter means the settlor, fiduciary, and property details captured at drafting are still there when it is time to administer the trust, and the administration ledger reconciles to a closing account without a separate tool. Attorney review stays at the center of every stage.

  • Estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters in one workflow
  • One reviewed matter interview feeds every document in the package
  • Editable Word output with versioned drafting and matter history
  • Fiduciary accounting ledger with principal and income allocation
  • Reconciled closing account with immutable closed periods
  • Client portal delivery and long-term document retrieval

Coverage varies by state and package, and probate workflows are currently supported in California, D.C., Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. Statular provides drafting, administration, and accounting workflows for attorney review — it does not file documents with courts or agencies, and it does not give legal advice.
